More burn info

June 26:  Just a couple of things that I wanted to add about Kady’s burn.  She was wearing a circle neck t-shirt and the pie actually slid inside her shirt and got stuck.  She couldn’t get the water to her chest so the pie continued to burn.  I called our local Paramedics and asked that they please send a female because Kady is 13 and still quite self conscious of her body.  A male EMT arrived first and stood in my bedroom telling me through the bathroom door what to do.  I thought that was very nice and considerate.  Approximately 1 1/2 min after he arrived the female EMTs arrived.  They still had their house clothes on and smelled of dinner; obviously they ran when they got the call.  I greatly appreciate their professionalism and their willingness to accommodate our desires.  I recently got a notice from the Fire Dept explaining that they offer their services for free for those who do not have insurance.  However, if you have insurance and would turn the info in they will bill your insurance company.  This is how they pay for the equipment they need.  They are all volunteers that work there.  They were particularly adamant that they would not bill us unless we requested one.  I love this town!
